Software Localisation
Localisation of software applications (Windows, Macintosh and Lotus Notes). I can work on rtf or text files or directly on binary files using Alchemy Catalyst Quickship 4.0.
Web Localisation
Localisation of Web and Wap sites. I can work on rtf files, directly on html files using Trados TagEditor 5.5, Microsoft FrontPage 2000, Dreamweaver 4.0 or alternatively on Html code using a text-based Html editor such as UltraEdit 8.20 or Windows
Notepad.
Translation
Translation of technical and non-technical documents from French and English into Italian using Trados
Translator's Workbench 5.5 and MS Word 2000/97/95/6.
Proofreading
Proofreading and editing to ensure that grammar, syntax, style, tone, and punctuation are native-like and follow Italian
standards.
Ad-hoc Interpreting
Spoken translation between Italian and English/French in informal conversations between two or more people in business
meetings, phone calls, site visits and social events.
Consulting and TM Maintenance
Linguistic consulting for translation agencies: assesment
translations, analysis of files for quotation purpose, evaluation and reorganization of translation memories and leverage material, conversion of glossary files into TMs
(Trados, TMX and Deja Vu formats) or Multiterm archives and viceversa.
Linguistic Testing
Linguistic and cultural auditing and testing of Web sites, Windows, Lotus Notes applications in order to verify that they have been properly localised and meet the target country standards and requirements:
content, style, forms, buttons and error messages.
On-site Contracts
I am available for short-term (1 week-6 months) on-site contracts for localisation and
testing.
